Rio Casino Will Become A Brand New Mega Resort Featuring Hyatt Hotels

Dreamscape, the owners of the Rio casino in Las Vegas, are completely transforming the property after striking a deal with global hotel chain Hyatt. They have had plans to undergo a massive conversion since purchasing the outdated casino in 2019 for over $500 million. You don’t need to worry about paying for a hotel room when gambling online at Cookie online Casino.

The initial stage of the renovation will convert a portion of the casino into a Hyatt hotel. Hyatt is excited to extend its portfolio of hotels and views Las Vegas as a destination that many of its loyal customers travel to frequently. They expect the Vegas property to be popular with both current and new Hyatt guests, allowing the company to further enhance its brand.

Currently, the Rio is known as an old casino that was opened in 1990 and hasn’t seen many updates since. It is famous for hosting Penn & Teller and the World Series Of Poker since the early 2000s, but these two popular events have not been enough to stop the downward slide of the property.

What Is The New Rio Going To Look Like?

Over the years, as the Rio has continued to decline, there have been many rumors about its future. One wild speculation was the casino was going to be demolished and turned into a baseball field in hopes of attracting a pro team to Vegas.

It seems Vegas residents will have to wait a little longer for a local pro baseball team after Hyatt confirmed that the new look casino would renovate over 2000 rooms, and the casino’s shops, restaurants and entertainment facilities will be completely overhauled.

Guests can say goodbye to the current Rio de Janeiro theme as Hyatt puts its personal touch on the property. Hyatt is planning on marketing 1500 rooms under their premier Regency brand and the remaining rooms under its longer stay and full-service apartment brands.

The press release, however, did not mention if gambling would still be held at the resort once Hyatt has rebranded the property. However, Dreamscape has applied for and received a conditional casino license from the gaming commission.

The head of the Rio Casino continues to be tightlipped about the future of gambling options at the property once the renovations are completed. It is likely just like the hotel rooms, and the gambling floor will experience a complete overhaul, and guests will be presented with an array of options.

When Dreamscape bought the casino in 2019 in their agreement, they bought the right to run betting operations at the property for two years for $90 million. As this contract is set to expire this year, it will be interesting to see what direction they take the gambling aspect of the property.
